Let us not seek to satisfy our thirst for freedom by drinking from the cup of bitterness and hatred.We must forever conduct our struggle on the high plane of dignity and discipline.We must not allow our creative protest to degenerate into physical violence. Again and again, we must rise to the majestic heights of meeting physical force with soul force.自由への渇望をみたすに，恨みと嫌悪の杯を飲み干すことを以ってしてはなりません。われわれは，あくまでも人間に対する尊厳と自分に対する規律の高みに立って闘争を続けなければなりません。われわれは，この創造的抗議行動を物理的暴力行為へと堕落させてはなりません。何度も申しますが，われわれは肉体的暴力に対して魂の力で立ち向かうという崇高さにまで昇らなければならないのです。
